Privacy Policy for askLex Partners

Effective for professionals who register as partners on the askLex platform.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to all professionals and service providers who register as partners on the askLex platform, including lawyers, notaries, translators, accountants, financial advisors, and other business service providers (collectively, "Partners").

By joining the askLex Partner Network, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.

2. What information we collect

When you register and maintain a profile as an askLex Partner, we collect:

  • Profile information — your full name, professional title, firm or organization name, bar registration number or equivalent professional license, areas of specialization, languages, office address, phone number, and email address.
  • Verification documents — copies of professional licenses, bar membership certificates, or other credentials required to validate your listing.
  • Communication data — messages exchanged through the askLex platform, inquiry records, and response history.
  • Usage data — how users interact with your profile, including views, clicks, and referral activity.
  • Billing information — if applicable, invoicing details for any paid partnership tier. We do not store full payment card details.

3. How we use your information

We use Partner information to:

  • Display your professional profile to askLex users seeking legal or business services
  • Verify your credentials and maintain quality standards on the platform
  • Send you referrals, user inquiries, and platform notifications
  • Improve search and matching between users and the right professionals
  • Comply with applicable Lebanese law and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate updates to platform terms, features, or policies

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects on you.

4. How your information is displayed publicly

Your Partner profile — including your name, title, specialization, contact details, and location — will be visible to askLex users. You control what optional information (photo, bio, languages, fee range) is included.

Credentials and verification status are displayed as badges but underlying documents are not shared publicly.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell Partner data to third parties. We may share information with:

  • Users — only the profile information you have made visible
  • Service providers — hosting, analytics, and email delivery partners operating under confidentiality obligations
  • Legal authorities — where required by Lebanese law or a valid court order

6. Data retention

We retain your Partner profile and associated data for as long as your account is active. If you remove your listing or request deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate dispute resolution purposes.

7. Your rights

As a Partner, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw from the Partner Network at any time

8. Data security

We apply industry-standard security measures to protect Partner data, including encrypted storage, access controls, and secure transmission protocols. No system is completely immune to risk; we will notify you promptly in the event of a breach affecting your data.

9. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any disputes arising from the Partner relationship will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Lebanese courts.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Partners will be notified of material changes by email or platform notification at least 14 days before they take effect.
